Hunter Biden’s art dealer is under the House Republicans investigation, since Wednesday. This is a part of the ongoing investigation of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, into the Biden family. Overall, the committee is most interested in the people who are buying Hunter’s art.
Hunter Biden’s Art Sells High, Despite Him Being New in the Art World
The representative of the committee, James Comer of Kentucky referred to Biden’s art dealer Georges Bergès, about the sales of his art. “Your arrangement with Hunter Biden raises serious ethics concerns. It also calls into question whether the Biden family is again selling access and influence”, Comer said.
He also said despite Hunter being new in the art world, he received a great amount of money for his works. The committee agreed it raises big ethics questions and concerns. Also, the identity of the buyers is unknown. Comer also wants to have the transcript of the communication, conducted between the gallery and the White House.
Bergès said the prices of Hunter’s art ranges from $55,000 to $225,000. This comes as the Republicans want to investigate the Biden family business deals. This is not the first time the committee requested information from the art dealer. But, Bergès ignored them. At that time, the GOP was in the minority.

But What About the Agreement Between the White House and Hunter Biden?
The committee raised big concerns about where the money is coming from and that it is done without any oversight. The buyers are anonymous and potentially foreign. “The American people deserve transparency regarding certain details about Hunter Biden’s expensive art transactions,” Comer’s letter says.
The Biden White House said Hunter is able to sell his artworks, but he can’t know the buyer’s identity. This agreement makes sure that no ethical principles are compromised. The arrangement is that the art dealers should handle all of the art and their prices. Hunter Biden can’t know the information of the buyers or the art prices. Bergès also agreed to reject any offer that he deemed suspicious or that came in over the asking price.
Comer and the committee aren’t the only people looking for the transcribed conversation and information. According to court documents, Biden’s former girlfriend Lunden Roberts also wants information about the sale of his art. This is a part of the fight for child support payments.
